BUY Tectyl 558-AMC x 59 litres TECTYL 558 AMC is an amber coloured, solvent cutback, slightly thixotropic wax base corrosion preventive compound with good water displacing properties. It is primarily intended for spray application to enclosed boxes, seams, joints and other creviced locations of vehicles, susceptible to corrosion. It is recommended as a primer coat for 2-layer systems. After a relatively short drying period. Can be sprayed over wet in wet with other TECTYL products up to a max. wet film thickness of approx. 600 microns without sagging or dripping. It dries to a dark amber colored, translucent, waxy, semi-firm, slightly tacky film. Dry to Touch Time @ 25°C: ± 3 hours. The maximum performance of TECTYL 558 AMC can be achieved only when the metal surfaces to be protected are clean, dry and free of rust, oil and mill scale. Valvoline recommends that the metal substrate temperature be 10-35 °C at the time of product application. It is formulated to be used as supplied. Ensure uniform consistency prior to use. Continued stirring is generally not required. DO NOT THIN TECTYL 558 AMC. Incorrect thinning will affect film build, dry time and product performance. TECTYL 558 AMC can be applied by airless or airmixing spray. It can be removed with mineral spirits or any similar petroleum solvent, hot alkaline wash or low pressure steam. TECTYL 558 AMC should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 °C. Mild agitation is recommended prior to use. Due to its composition TECTYL can be subject to postproduction viscosity changes during storage. Under proper storage conditions TECTYL 558 AMC can have a shelf life of 3 years minimum.
